The district and its proximity to the natural beauty of the Akamas peninsula and Troudos mountains is popular with hikers and nature lovers. The area is also very good for cycling, horse riding ( stunning mountain scenery) and quad biking. Lovers of water sports are able to indulge in deep sea diving at the nearby Akamas coastline which is known for the exceptional depth of its sea. But that's not all , what about sailing , waterskiing , parasailing or jet skis . All available in Latchi harbour. Visitors are also able to hire speed boats, surf boards, sea kayaks or just swim in the life guard safe warm waters of the Chrysochou Bay. Or just lay back and relax on Polis or Latchi beaches . Interested in golf? You can enjoy a game at TSADA golf course about 25 minutes away from Polis. The TROUDOS mountains are about an hours drive away and offer stunning scenery , typical Cypriot villages and SKIING around mid December to mid March. Her baths are a 10 minute drive away. There are regular bus trips which are a great way to see the beautiful Chrysochou valley with its countless citrus groves and vineyards. Polis' cobbled village square with its Church and pedestrian area offers a wide choice of restaurants, tavernas and bars. Whilst Latchi is renown for its fish restaurants which overlook the beaches or marina. There are several wineries in the surrounding unspoilt villages that can be visited for free wine tasting and stocking up on good Cyprus wines for your holiday and to take home.
